"Not being able to read is like being in prison, because if you can't read, you're not free." –Literacy Program Student
Think of all the things you couldn't do if you didn't possess the gift of literacy: read the warning labels on medicine bottles, interpret traffic signs, fill out a job application, follow a recipe, or read to a child.
The LifeWorks Literacy Programs seek tutors to work with our Adult Basic Education students.
Now imagine the added difficulty of learning to read when you have a cognitive or learning disability.
The LifeWorks Literacy Programs seek tutors to work with our Adult Basic Education and English as a Second Language (ESL) students who have special education needs and learn at a different pace than other students.
