Description: |
A facility piping designer performs piping design systems of oil and gas production facilities, including new installations as well as upgrades and retrofits to existing terminals, platform, subsea tie backs and pipelines. Projects that the facility piping designer could be involved in include: Conceptual design layouts for new field or plant developments, Developments a 3D CAD model of complex offshore/onshore piping design systems using 2D and 3D modeling software. Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) and Detailed Engineering for equipment additions such as production separators, oil treaters, storage tanks, pumps and gas compressors on new and existing platforms, Subsea tie backs in deepwater. (Assignments will vary depending on the nature of projects received from Senior engineers and candidate's applicable work experience, expertise and proficiency.) - Performs 3D piping design work for offshore and onshore facilities
- Works on 3D model and CAD files for piping plans
- Developments 3D CAD models of complex offshore/onshore piping design systems using 3D CADworx
- Develops design layouts of various process skids
- Develops facility piping design layouts
- Develops orientation of process equipment with nozzle locations for interconnecting piping.
- Develops skid piping plans and sections
- Developments Isometric drawings from 3D model
- Developments Isometric drawings in 2D format
- Checks skid piping plans and sections
- Checks Isometric drawings for bill of materials and dimensional information
- Performs the necessary field work to obtain accurate information for the design.
- Ability to review and implement P&IDs or mechanical flow sheets to piping design
- Ability to review and use piping specifications
- Ability to review and implement standard project specifications to meet specific project requirements
- Assist Project Managers and design team for completing the design project effort.
- Coordinates with structural designers to ensure an integrated design that meets the project requirement
- Coordinates with other disciplines to ensure an integrated design that meets the project requirements
- Coordinates and junior facility drafters in the creation of piping drawings and isometrics
- Coordinates piping coordination with construction inspector if needed
- Provides construction and startup assistance.
- Attends project meetings
- Ability to take Field trips to project locations offshore and onshore
- Takes As built measurements existing process equipment that will be used for the project
- Walks down facilities and PID verification
- Reviews and approves vendor drawings

Qualifications: |
Must have a knowledge of CADworx and Navis. Must have a knowledge of Autocad 2007 or higher. Must have a drafting school degree. Requires 10+ years experience in piping design offshore oil and gas facilities. Familiar with all piping design requirements for projects, including client provided specifications and all applicable codes and standards. Experience in offshore facilities and/or gas plant design is preferred. Ability to interact with staff at all levels. Ability to travel to client sites. Experience to work with drafting or other engineering support staff. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in multiple industries is a plus. Availability and ability to work overtime as needed based on project. Strong written and verbal communications skills. |
