Description: |
With the general guidance of the Site Director and Site Manager, the Site Aide will supervise between 10-15 children. Incumbent must provide a safe and clean environment for the children, as well as, an enjoyable environment. This position is responsible for the direct supervision of program participants. The position conducts the daily program activities at the site.
Positions available throughout San Antonio, Schertz and New Braunfels.
Availability: Monday - Friday, 2-6:30 pm for After School
and 6:30 am - 6:30 pm for Summer Day Camp |
Duties: |
Assist in planning and implementing the daily activity program/curriculum.
Supervises and participates with the children in all activities.
Assists the Site Director / Site Manager in the following areas:
Food Services
Maintenance and use of the physical facility, restrooms, grounds, equipment and supplies
Discipline and guidance
Health, safety and risk management
Administration and record keeping
Promotions and public relations
Performs all other assigned duties as requested by the Site Director / Site Manager or the Y School Age Program Administrative staff, and attends all child care staff meetings and training sessions.
Adheres to the child care policies and the goals of the YMCA, and directs each site in accordance with the mission statement of the YMCA of San Antonio and the standards of all regulatory agencies.

Qualifications: |
This position requires a minimum of High School Diploma or GED, preferred 2 years of college with studies in Early Child Development, Education, Behavioral science, or Recreation.
General experience in child care is necessary.
This position requires certification of CPR, First Aid, BBP and Driver License class C, only if Site-Aide is clear to drive vehicle. |
