Description: |
The Community Resources coordinator will explore opportunities for our students to visit colleges for educational tours, apartments and other housing options, employment programs, job fairs, banks and comparative shopping opportunities. They will also secure relevant guest speakers for PAL classes, make connections with other organizations, and develop community partners. The Coordinator does not need to attend the field trips
Schedule is flexible, Field Trips can be organized and scheduled from the Life Skills office or from coorrdinator's home. |
Qualifications: |
Must be 18 years or older.
Necessary skills: Knowledge of and access to community programs and resources relevant to LifeSkills Training including: educational, housing, employment services, banking, and shopping resources in the central Texas area (Region 7). Ability to set up a well coordinated, educational, and enjoyable 6 hour field field trips for groups of 10 to 15 teenagers. Ability to recruit and orient guest speakers to provide LifeSkills presentations. |
